I just finished The City in Glass (2024) by Nghi Vo. I don't think I understood it.

It's about a demon, an angel, and a city. It's not clear what the rules are, though both the demon and the angel appear to be immortal. The city goes through a number of phases, people come and go— live and die— and I'm just not sure what to make of it all.
