Whistle Stop

Last night I watched Whistle Stop (1946) directed by Léonide Moguy. The screenplay was by Philip Yordan, but it was based on the 1941 novel of the same name by Maritta Wolff.

Train-wise, it starts off strong, opening with a whistle blast, a shot of a semaphore in action, and then a train pulling into a station! It drops off pretty quickly though.

The book sounds more interesting than the movie. Wolff wrote it when she was still in college! I'm going to add it to my TBR. I already checked the local library, but they don't have it.
