Casablanca

I just watched "Casablanca" (1942). Wow.

It is really good. Like really good. It is always near the top of "great movie" lists and now I know why.

I had thought I had seen this before, but apparently not. I knew some of the plot, some of the actors, and some of the dialogue, but I guess I just assimilated all of that from simply being alive in the world for 60+ years.

One thing I don't think I knew is that it features the always wonderful Peter Lorre. I think his English was pretty good by 1942; in earlier films, he didn't know any English and read his lines phonetically.

It also has Dooley Wilson singing Knock On Wood in its entirety— fantastic!
