A Murder at the End of the World

I just watched the first episode of "A Murder at the End of the World" on Hulu. Really fun!

It was created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij (creators of "The OA"). They also wrote it, directed it (Marling directed the first episode, either Marling or Batmanglij directed each of the other six), and executive produced it. Marling is also in it, though not in the starring role. It stars Emma Corrin.

A while ago, I wrote about Brit Marling and how much I liked her work. I still haven't seen "Sound of My Voice" or "The OA," but now there's her new show (take that, Netflix and Amazon)! It originally aired for seven weeks in November and December. I happened to hear about it on lobste.rs of all places. They were talking about this article, which mentioned the hacking stuff in the show.

I'm a bit disappointed that I did not hear about a new Brit Marling joint through normal channels, but I am also kind of amused that I heard about it anyway because of the nerd content (specifically, Emacs).

Anyway, I'm really excited for the next six episodes! I'm not one for binging (i.e., I'm not going to go watch another episode now), but I probably won't be able to make it last for seven weeks either.

I think episodic television is an art form of its own and leaving space between episodes is important. But it doesn't have to be a whole week, right?
