Pachinko

I jut finished reading Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. Just wonderful!

I was puzzled about the title for the longest time. It's a book about a Korean family. Pachinko is a Japanese gambling game. The word pachinko does not appear in the text until about halfway through.

Pachinko was made into a television series last year. Apparently, they didn't finish the book because it has been renewed for a second season. I don't subscribe to the service it is on, so I guess I will have to wait for the DVD.

Lee has just one other book (Free Food for Millionaires). I think I will add it to my TBR.
