The MaddAddam trilogy
I just finished MaddAddam, the third book of the so-called MaddAddam trilogy.

I don't remember how Oryx and Crake ended up on my to-be-read list, but I picked it up a while ago and finished it earlier this month. It is really good!
Only then did I discover it is the first book of a trilogy. I asked bookstodon if the other two were worth reading. In my experience, even if the first book is good, it does not follow that the whole trilogy is worthwhile. Oryx and Crake was a good story with a satisfying ending; it did not seem to need a follow on.
@Jillybee suggested it was worth reading the whole trilogy, so I pressed on with The Year of the Flood and now MaddAddam. I'm glad I did. It's a good read!
As is often the case with a book two, The Year of the Flood did not really have a proper ending of its own, so having read it, I was almost obligated to read MaddAddam. I am happy I was able to do so almost immediately. The Year of the Flood was published in 2009 and MaddAddam in 2013; it must have been annoying for the folks who had to wait some four years for the conclusion.
Update (2025-05-03): Pigoons are on the way! Naw, I guess pigoons were for organs not food.
