Once Upon a Prime

I just finished Once Upon a Prime - The Wondrous Connections Between Mathematics and Literature by Sarah Hart. It is absolutely wonderful!

It's joyful and funny and I can't get enough of it. I got it out of the library yesterday and read Part I (it's in three parts). Today, I read Part II and intended to leave Part III for tomorrow. But I couldn't resist and I picked it back up and read the rest! It's just so fun!

I had never heard of Sarah Hart until the other day when I stumbled upon this lecture she gave on Alan Turing. What a find! She gave two other lectures in the same series, Unexpected Mathematical Lives. She also did another series on Geometry: The Mathematics of Art. I've got lots to watch now!

Update: And there was another series of lectures on Mathematics in Music and Writing in 2020 and 2021!

Update (2023-07-21): Sarah Hart just appeared on the My Favorite Theorem podcast!
