The Churn

I just finished reading The Churn by James S. A. Corey. It's quite short, but it was a fun read!

It is a sort of prequel to The Expanse novels, which I haven't read. A friend of mine from online Rust meetups mentioned it to me. I always introduce myself as "Tim from Baltimore" at these meetups and the main character in The Churn is "Timmy from Baltimore." Naturally, I wanted to see what he was all about!

The Expanse has also been made into a television show.

Perhaps I will read or watch more of The Expanse, but even if I don't I'm happy to have read The Churn. It stands on its own quite well as a novella.

Update (2025-06-08): I guess Timmy from Baltimore is getting his own sequel!
